Our Role: Happenings Events Management worked closely with the Premier’s Office and the WA Maritime Museum to develop and manage all aspects of the Official Opening Ceremony and Public Launch of the Welcome Walls, located at Victoria Quay in Fremantle. Aspects of the event which Happenings which were responsible for included celebratory flyover of RAAF aircraft, ceremonial proceedings, entertainment throughout the day and coordination of all temporary infrastructure associated with the launch. In excess of 5,000 people were invited to the Ceremony and it is estimated that a further 5,000 people visited the Welcome Walls throughout the day. In addition to the highly successful awareness campaign carried out in the lead up to the launch, this event also attracted significant International and Australia wide media coverage.
